Get Out There with Acquired Brain Injury - GOT ABI is a NJ 501(c)3 org. dedicated to empowering young adults (ages 18-30) with an Acquired Brain Injury through socialization, education, advocacy & awareness.
Our Mission:
GOT ABI aims to empower young adults with acquired brain injuries to reclaim their futures, connect with their communities, and thrive through awareness, socialization, and advocacy.
A brain injury during young adulthood is unique because the brain is still forming. It may affect development of emotional regulation, impulse control, social skills, executive function, and decision-making. This can significantly impact a young adults' ability to form and maintain healthy relationships, pursue educational aspirations or secure a stable career.
