The County Department of Human Services is committed to implementing, coordinating and improving the system of human services through the use of federal, state and county funds. At the county level, the office serves as the grants management office through which many statewide initiatives are made operational. The funding streams administered by the department are as follows:

• New Jersey Division of Mental Health Services
• New Jersey Division of Youth and Family Services

Advisory Bodies
State regulations require that there be local advisory committees of providers and concerned citizens established to assist in plan development, resource allocation, and program monitoring. Often through the committees and boards Requests for Proposals (RFPs) are issued by the department for a new service. The following are advisory bodies:

• The County Alliance Steering Subcommittee (CASS)
• The County Municipal Alliances
• The Mental Health Alcohol and Drug Abuse Board (MHADA Board)
• The Human Services Advisory Council (HSAC)
• The Youth Services Commission (YSC)
