What’s New for 2025
This year, we’re excited to introduce a dedicated networking space for attendees to connect, share ideas, and collaborate, the opportunity for organizations and individuals to secure their own table to promote resources and services related to Black maternal health, and an interactive panel discussion with leading healthcare professionals, state agency professionals, and advocates about statistics and data around Maternal Child Health in New Jersey. We are curating an inspiring lineup of experts, advocates, and survivors who will share their insights, experiences, and calls for action.

“We are thrilled to announce the Rise Up! Advancing Black Maternal Health Equity in New Jersey conference,” said Dr. Judith Francis, program manager for CJFHC’s Healthy Women, Healthy Families program. “Now in its third year, the Black Maternal Health Conference continues to educate, empower, and inspire people to take meaningful steps toward transformative change in Black maternal health equity and reproductive justice. We look forward to your participation in this vital conversation and collective effort for change.”

Past Conference Highlights
The Black Maternal Health Conference has grown into a powerful space for sharing stories, amplifying voices, and driving change. In 2024, we focused on Turning up the Volume by Partnering with a Purpose, featuring inspiring speakers such as:

  • Shawnee Benton Gibson
  • Trashaun M. Powell
  • Dr. Ndidi Amutah-Onukagha
  • Peter Bullock

These speakers highlighted the need for collective action to tackle the crisis in Black maternal health. These powerful voices, along with courageous testimonies from women who have survived maternal health disparities, sparked meaningful conversations and built powerful connections.

Rising Up
Whether you’re a healthcare professional, an advocate, or a community member, the 2025 Black Maternal Health Conference is an opportunity to be part of a movement that seeks to create lasting change in maternal health outcomes.

We look forward to seeing you at the conference on April 10, 2025, as we Rise Up! and advance equity for Black maternal health in New Jersey.
